Definition of "Trademark Search (Comprehensive)"

A Comprehensive Trademark Search will help ensure that you will not be infringing on someone's registered trademark. Typically, the person infringing can be forced to stop using the trademark and might have to destroy all materials bearing that trademark. A trademark search minimizes the potential losses in adopting and using a new trademark. A comprehensive trademark search should search most or all of the following databases:

  • US Federal
  • US State
  • US Common Law
  • Domain name (.com, .net and .org)
  • Canada
  • United Kingdom
  • European Community
  • WIPO
